About
Dr. Bruce Batagol completed his medical training and commenced his post graduate psychiatric training in Melbourne. He then travelled to Toronto, Canada, where he completed his psychiatric training and remained for 9 years. During those 9 years he was a member of the faculty of the University of Toronto and a consultant psychiatrist at a major teaching hospital where he was in charge of an inpatient unit and consulted to other medical departments of the hospital.
After returning to Australia he commenced private practice. He was Head of Psychiatry at the Royal Women’s Hospital and on the teaching faculty of the University of Melbourne for many years. He now continues in private practice in general adult psychiatry.
In 2024, having been in specialist psychiatric practice for 53 years, he believes that it is time to retire. He has now closed his clinical practice at South Melbourne Consulting Suites, after 4-5 pleasant years there.
